3rd University of Westminster International Linguistics Conference

    2-3 July 2020

Theme: Language contact and change in an interconnected world

      2nd Call for Papers

      Keynote speakers:

    • Professor Lutz Marten – School of Oriental and African Studies, University College London
    • Professor Karen Corrigan – School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics, Newcastle University

The conference theme is chosen to explore the interesting and multiple linguistic spaces that we all share in our ever-interconnected world. We live in a time of great linguistic and cultural diversity and other ecopolitical manifestations that impact the study of language and linguistics in both urbanised and more rural settings.

In light of these developments, and the presumed increasing contact between various languages in our interconnected world, the conference invites papers that reflects on these issues.

We invite submission of abstracts in English (in either PDF or MS Word format) of no more than 250 words including your title and affiliation to:

    • INDIVIDUAL PAPERS: Oral presentations on original research by one or more authors within a 20-minute period with 10 minutes for questions.
    • POSTERS: Posters will be displayed during a dedicated poster session. Posters of standard A0 size should be submitted to the registration desk on the morning of the conference.
