The benefits of membership include:

• A very low subscription rate for the Journal of Linguistics
• A 20% discount on OUP Linguistics titles.
• Substantial discounts (up to 60%) on various Elsevier titles.
• Attendance without surcharge at LAGB conferences.
• Generous conference bursaries for student members.
• Full members are entitled to apply for a conference sponsorship when organising specialised conferences (up to £300).
• Student members are entitled to apply for postgraduate-conference sponsorships (up to £600 for cross-institutional conferences).
• The right to vote on important business matters.
• Access to LAGB discussion forums.

Membership is cheap compared with most other academic organisations and there are specially low membership rates for students. There are four types of membership:

• Waged (£20.-)
• Unwaged (10.-)
• Waged with Journal of Linguistics (£44.-)
• Unwaged with Journal of Linguistics (£22.-)
