This is a reminder that submissions are still open for the Why Linguistics video competition.
Undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and early career researchers in linguistics are invited to submit a short (approximately one minute) video explaining what linguistics is and why it matters.
The competition is run by CLiE, LAGB, BAAL, and Cambridge University Press. Prizes include two £100 cash awards and a £50 Cambridge University Press book voucher.
The submission deadline is 1 February 2026.
Videos should be sent to whylinguistics@lagb.org.uk.
