Venue

The conference will be held in buildings in and around the Wilkins Portico of the UCL Main Building on Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT, UK. The location of UCL is shown on Googlemap below. The detailed campus map below shows the location of buildings that will be used during the conference (each marked with a blue rectangle).


Registration and conference rooms

The Summer School will take place in the Pearson Building, accessible via the Main Quad of UCL. Note that it will not take place in the Anatomy Building as previously advertised.

  • Registration, sessions will and tea/coffee breaks held in and around G22 Lecture Theatre;
  • Lunch will be held in the North Cloisters.

Registration on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will take place in the Main Quad Pavilion, situated in the Main Quad directly outside the Wilkins Portico, accessible from Gower Street.

  • Plenary sessions and tea/coffee breaks will be held in the Main Quad Pavilion;
  • Parallel Sessions will be held in G07 and G08 in the Chadwick Building and G17 and G23 in the Pearson Building (both accessible from the Main Quad);
  • Lunch and the wine reception will be held in the North Cloisters.

Getting to UCL

UCL is situated within the Bloomsbury area of London, close to Euston, Russell Square and the British Museum.

The closest tube stations, within 3 minutes walk are Euston Square (Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines) and Warren Street (Victoria line). Note that Euston and Euston Square are different stations.

It is a 10 minute walk from Russell Square tube (Piccadilly line), 10 minutes walk from Euston Station (Northern and Victoria lines, trains to Birmingham, Manchester and the north) and 15 minutes from Kings Cross St Pancras (Circle, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines, trains to Cambridge, Sheffield, and the north, Eurostar to Continental Europe).

Piccadilly line trains from Russell Square tube station go directly to Heathrow Airport (around 50 minutes journey time) every few minutes. The Circle and Hammersmith and City lines run from Euston Square to Paddington, from where you can take the Heathrow Express. The Gatwick Express runs to and from Victoria (around 15 minutes journey tim from Warren Street). Cheaper trains to Gatwick run from London Bridge (Northern line).
