Foreign languages in the UK

    Dear All,
    Just in case you haven't seen this already, Terry Lamb (a distinguished member of CLIE and many other organisations relevant to language teaching) has launched a campaign petition about Asset Languages, a brand new system of language qualifications (based on the 'grade exams' for music) which is one of the big achievements in FL teaching of the last decade. His campaign is trying to to persuade the exam board OCR to continue to support Asset Languages tests in a wide range of languages, rather than to reduce them to just five. It's an important issue, and he needs as much support as we can muster.
