    The 8th Newcastle-upon-Tyne Postgraduate Conference in Linguistics

    First Call for Papers
    We are pleased to announce the 8th Newcastle-upon-Tyne Postgraduate Conference in Linguistics. We invite postgraduate students to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on any area of linguistics (please see attachment for submission guidelines).
    This one-day conference is designed to give linguistics postgraduates from all research areas an opportunity to present and discuss their research in an informal and intellectually stimulating setting.
     
    CONFIRMED PLENARY SPEAKERS
    Geoffrey Leech, Professor of Linguistics and Modern English Language
    (Lancaster University)
    and Steve Walsh, Professor of Applied Linguistics
    (Newcastle University)
     
    KEY DATES
    Deadline for submission of abstracts: Friday, 11th January 2013.
    Notification of acceptance: Mid February 2013.
    Registration opens 11th February 2013.
     
    ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
     
    PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
    Accepted abstracts will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. There will be a dedicated poster session on the day of the conference. Speakers will also be invited to submit their paper for publication in the Newcastle Working Papers in Linguistics.
